Burning Earth

This is the demo for Burning Earth, a retro, console-type RPG for windows!

Journey across a fantastical world, full of interesting and diverse inhabitants, in your quest to root out a growing evil. Experience epic-roleplaying adventure as Desmond, a young man destined to stand against the Darkness.

This game is still in development. This "demo" contains about the first six or seven hours of gameplay. Leave feedback below.

To play extract the  "BurningEarthDemo" folder to a directory on your computer. Double-click "game.exe"

Characters

The following 8 characters will join your party and become playable in Xenon II : Burning Earth. Each with their own stories and unique upgrades to discover.

Desmond! He is the main character of the story and the one most often controlled by the player. A young man, orphaned at birth, he grew up in the care of Lukhan, a wise elder living in the forest outside the village. Although he's skilled with a sword, Lukhan has been instructing him in the use of deadly magic...

Albert! A disciple black mage, many find him annoying but he's been your best friend since childhood. He can use powerful magic to obliterate enemies, and focus to restore MP.

Ashlyn! She ran away from home and became the leader of a group of bandits holed up in an old tower. A quick and agile fighter, she can learn to open locked chests and steal items from enemies, or become a powerful fighter with skills to aid those in need.

Clyde! He is a centaur and horse-archer from a distant forest, having left his home to seek adventure. He can inflict debilitating status ailments on enemies, or become a powerful defender or the weak with spear and lance.

Josslyn! A priestess from a far-away temple, she has been praying for a Chosen One to rid the world of evil and put an end to a sinister prophecy. She can use restorative white magic in combat to aid her friends, or learn to fight in the secret ways of religious monks...

Loras! He is a young priest from Tohto who spent his childhood as a slave until he was rescued by Hector, his traveling companion. He can aid his friends in combat with powerful enhancements, or destroy the undead with righteous indignation!

Hector! A man-gator from the swamp kingdom. He might look scary and is known to feast on fallen adversaries, but he would never harm a friend. He can learn to use the special skills the enemies use.

Pontus! A guilt ridden knight from an enemy kingdom. During the war he was tasked with assassinating the enemy prince. Since then he has had to bear the title of "childkiller".  He can jump to avoid attacks and learn powerful black magic to destroy the enemy.
